The Slanket - The Best Of The Sleeved Blankets

Updated on November 24, 2013

The Slanket A Great Gift Idea For Keeping Warm

The Slanket is a great gift idea for the Winter season, especially for someone who feels the cold.

No let me tell you all about the Slanket, which I can do from experience, as I bought one for my wife 18 months ago, and she wouldn't be without it. This is a review of one of the best purchases that I have ever made, and my wife will back me up on that, since she is the one who wouldn't be without it.

There is nothing like being cold, especially when you are sitting in the living room watching television, and sometimes no matter how high you turn the heating up, it makes no difference, except to your energy bills.

The Slanket, which is a blanket with sleeves, is the perfect solution, because it covers you from head to foot, and it's a nice thick heavy blanket too, not one of the thin fleecy ones that you often see advertised on television, and which don't really compare as I will show you later on this page.

The Slanket image above is from Amazon.com, who sell a wide range of Slankets in lots of different colors.

Slanket Reviews

The Slanket vs The Snuggie - which sleeved blanket is the best?

There are now a few makes of sleeved blanket on the market, but the most popular are the Slanket and the Snuggie.

The Snuggie is the best known of the two, having been advertised extensively on television on the shopping channels and As Seen On TV. It is the cheaper of the two, retailing on Amazon.com currently at around $9.99 as compared with $29.99 for the Slanket, but it is also very much the lesser of the two.

A March 2009 review on Gizmodo has the following to say about the Slanket:

By comparison, the same review says this about the Snuggie:

The Gizmodo review also covers the "Blankoat" which costs an arm and a leg at over $100 and concludes as follows:

The evidence is there - which Sleeved Blanked do you prefer?

Your Thoughts About Sleeved Blankets?

Do you have a Sleeved Blanket? If so, is it a Slanket, a Snuggie or something else? Do you use a regular blanket or throw when you are sitting on the couch? Do you even see the need for a Sleeved Blanket?

What do you think about Sleeved Blankets?

Not Forgetting The UK!

If you live in the UK you can still buy a Slanket from Amazon.co.uk
