Who would have thought that a 16 year old Country Singer Songwriter could have a huge hit with her debut album, but Taylor Swift did just that in 2006 with her self titled album Taylor Swift which shot up the charts, reaching fifth place in the Billboard Top 200, and staying at the top of the Country Album Charts for 24 weeks in a row.

Not only was her debut album an enormous success, it gave rise to 5 hit singles, the first of which Tim McGraw firmly establishing her as a talent to be reckoned with. After that there followed Teardrops On My Guitar, then Our Song, Picture To Burn and finally this song, Should've Said No.

Taylor Swift is not only a highly talented singer and songwriter, she is a charismatic drop dead gorgeous blonde, a combination that has let to her quickly reach superstar status. Her music easily crosses over from Country to Pop, and as such her fan base has quickly spread worldwide and she is well known outside of the Country Music genre.

Song Lyrics: Should've Said No

Should've Said No - Taylor Swift from her debut album Taylor Swift released in 2006

Written by Taylor Swift.

It's strange to think the songs we used to sing

The smiles, the flowers, everything: is gone

Yesterday I found out about you

Even now just looking at you: feels wrong

You say that you'd take it all back, given one chance

It was a moment of weakness and you said yes...

[Chorus:]

You should've said no, you should've gone home

You should've thought twice before you let it all go

You should've know that word, bout what you did with her

Would get back to me...

And I should've been there, in the back of your mind

I shouldn't be asking myself why

You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet...

You should've said no, baby and you might still have me

You can see that I've been crying

And baby you know all the right things: to say

But do you honestly expect me to believe

We could ever be the same...

You say that the past is the past, you need one chance

It was a moment of weakness and you said yes...

[Repeat Chorus]

I can't resist... before you go, tell me this

Was it worth it...

Was she worth this...

No... no no no...

[Repeat Chorus]
